The International Beach Cleaning Day is celebrated every year with the intention of raising awareness among the population.
The Riviera Maya is, without a doubt, one of the most favorite vacation destinations in the world. In September, and for the tenth year in a row, the 2019 International Beach and Waterbody cleaning event began in the state of Quintana Roo.
In its 34th edition and organized by the environmental conservation group Ocean Conservancy, Cala Paddle Boards sponsored the beach cleaning at different locations in the Riviera.
The event was not just about cleaning beaches, it was about making people reflect and question and, above all, educating them about the serious pollution of the oceans, and that if we do not change our lifestyle, we will not have something to leave to our children.
At Cala we believe that we can save the planet with intelligent, positive thinking and proactive decisions and actions. We know that clean oceans mean clean air. We, the ocean people, feel compelled to tell that story and do everything we can to mobilize citizens around the world to help us protect the oceans.
